My Story

Kristin Faurest is Director of Education for Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest. She grew up playing on the banks of the Ohio  River under sycamore trees and loves being outside year-round. She’s a former Peace Corps volunteer who is passionate about traveling, with one of her favorite experiences being summiting Mount Kenya. Kristin also teaches landscape architecture students and has written a few books, including “Community Built: Art, Construction, Preservation and Place” (Routledge, 2017). She believes the Rites of Passage program will be a path for youth to form themselves into positive, self-determined adults with a powerful sense of their connection to nature, heritage and community.
